CRAIG CHARLES: STAND-UP COMEDY
Craig had originally started, performing, his Stand-up Comedy Shows, since the early nineteen eighties, but he had, started off, as a Performance Poet, and then, he graduated, on to Stand-up Comedy, as the Support Act, for various Comedians, including Norman Lovett, who is very well-known, as Red Dwarf’s, Senile Computer: Holly. Norman Lovett, had originally, appeared, as Holly, on Red Dwarf I and II, and most recently, in the last episode of Red Dwarf VII, entitled "Nanarchy", and the whole, of Red Dwarf VIII. In-between his Red Dwarf commitments, Craig had also appeared, performing his Stand-up Comedy Show, at The Montreal Comedy Festival, during the late nineteen eighties, and early nineteen nineties.
After Craig's Notorious Rape Trial, Craig had interpreted, his experiences, in Prison, via touring, his own Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had, eventually been, re-titled: Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998. Unfortunately however, with regard, to Craig’s, busy schedule, he did not have, much time, to develop, any new material, but he did, eventually, improvise, his act, with a wide range of new jokes, and his Former: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! Show, had eventually, been re-titled: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium.
And, The Craig Charles: Live on Earth! Show VHS Video, which had, originally been, released, during 1995, is still available, on VHS Video, via the Amazon Shopping Website.
And, there had also been, an Audio version, of: The Craig Charles: Live on Earth! Show, that had been, on general release, in all good Record Shops, and Book Shops, which had also, originally been, released, during 1995, that had been available, at one time.
And Craig, had originally, followed up, his: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! Show: VHS Video, via a Camcorder VHS Video recording, which had, originally been, entitled: Craig Charles: Live! Official Bootleg Tour, which had, originally been, released, during 1996.
And during, the Millennium, Craig had toured, with a brand new: Stand-up Comedy Show, which had, originally been, entitled: Craig Charles: Sickbag, which had, also included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had, eventually been, re-titled: Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998.
And, to co-incide, with his brand new: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Sickbag, which had, also included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had, eventually been, re-titled: Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998, Craig had, also released, a brand new VHS Video, which had, originally been, entitled: Craig Charles: Sickbag, which had, also included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had, eventually been, re-titled: Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998, which had originally, been released, during the Millennium, and it, is still available, on VHS Video, via the Amazon Shopping Website.
And Craig, had continued, to perform, his Stand-up Comedy Show, which
had, originally been, entitled: Craig Charles: Sickbag,
which had, also
included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show:
Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had, eventually
been, re-titled: Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had
originally ran, from 1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998, with his own
Band: The Eye (2000-2002), from 2000 to 2001.
And, Russell Brand, had also been, one of the co-writers, of the Craig Charles: Sickbag VHS Video, which had, also included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles: Live on Earth!
Craig Charles
continues, to use his ever ready wit, and humour, via
some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show: Craig Charles:
Live on Earth! (which had, eventually been, re-titled:
Craig Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from
1999, up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998, and his former: Stand-up Comedy Show, which
had originally, been entitled: Craig Charles: Sickbag, which had, also
included, some of his original material, via his Former: Stand-up Comedy Show:
Craig Charles: Live on Earth! (which had eventually been, re-titled: Craig
Charles: Still Live on Earth!, and which, had originally ran, from 1999,
up until, the Millennium), from 1995 to 1998, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6
Music Station, and via, his being a Club DJ, via his Funk and Soul Club Gigs,
which Craig, has toured, around the United Kingdom, since 2002, onwards? And Craig, has also, being a Club DJ, at other venues, which
have included, the SFX Weekender 2011 Convention, at Camber Sands, Camber, Rye,
East Sussex. And, I have recently gathered, that there are plans, for Craig
Charles, to make an appearance, as the DJ, at the Red Dwarf Dimension Jump 2012
Convention.
And Craig, has
made an announcement, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music
Station, during 2008?, that he, would definitely, love to make a return, via
his Stand-up Comedy Tours, around the United Kingdom, and which, had also
included, his Stand up Comedy Tours, around Australia and New Zealand, and
Norway, one day. Unfortunately however, Craig is far too busy, where his work
commitments, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, and
via, his being, a Club DJ, via his Funk and Soul Club Gigs, which Craig, has
toured, around the United Kingdom, since 2002, onwards?, and Coronation Street,
are concerned, to make a return, via his Stand up Comedy Tours, around the United
Kingdom, and which, had also included, his Stand up Comedy Tours, around
Australia and New Zealand, and Norway, for the time being, anyhow!
CRAIG CHARLES: ROBOT WARS
With regard, to Craig,
being a Former Presenter, on the BBC2 Robot Wars Championships, for the best
part of five years, I have sorted out, a brief promotion, for him, where that
was concerned, and which, I had originally posted, on my Unofficial Craig
Charles Website, from the Autumn of 1998, onwards, for that sole purpose,
anyhow!
AUTUMN 1998
Firstly and
foremostly, I would like to add my congratulations to
Craig, for acquiring, the proud position, of hosting, Robot Wars on BBC2, that
had officially, been handed over, to him, via Jeremy Clarkson, during the Autumn of 1998. I have never, really been a fan of Jeremy
Clarkson, even though, I have heard, that he did do, a very good job of
presenting, Robot Wars, at the time, anyhow! And, with Craig’s Science Fiction
connections, I really did feel, that Robot Wars, had been, the show for him! I
haven't watched the whole series, of Robot Wars, as it isn't really, my sort of
thing. But that said, however, I do intend to include, some short reviews of
the programme, at a later date, on my Unofficial
Craig Charles Website, anyhow!
ROBOT WARS: FROM 1998 ONWARDS
And Craig, had
been, the Host, of the irresistible carnage of Robot Wars, on BBC2, from 1998
to 2004. And, I have heard, that there is, a possibility,
that Robot Wars, could be, coming back, one day…!
Some brief:
Robot Wars History. During 2003 and 2004, Robot Wars, ended up, being
broadcast, on Channel Five, with Craig Charles, as it’s
Presenter. And from what, I have gathered, Robot Wars, was supposed, to have
been broadcast, on SKY, during 2008, with Craig Charles, as it’s
Presenter.
Unfortunately
however, I cannot find any more information, via the Internet, with regard, to
Robot Wars, which was supposed, to have been broadcast, on SKY, during 2008,
with Craig Charles, as it’s Presenter, when all is
said and done! But that said, however, if I can across, any more information,
with regard, to Robot Wars, which was supposed, to have been broadcast, on SKY,
during 2008, with Craig Charles, as it’s Presenter, I will definitely, update
my Unofficial Craig Charles Website, as soon, as it is possible, for me, to do
so, where that is concerned, anyhow!
As I have finally managed,
to locate and bookmark, a brand new: Robot Wars Tribute Website, I can now
provide a web link for it, via my Unofficial Craig Charles Website! So, for all
you Robot Wars fanatics, out there, the Web link is:

THE CRAIG CHARLES FUNK AND SOUL PAGE WEBSITE
And, on
Saturday the 21st of July 2007, Craig had announced, on his Funk and Soul Show,
at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, that he had acquired, a brand new Website,
which had originally, been set up, on Friday the 20th of July 2007, at long
last! But that said, however, Craig’s brand new: Funk and Soul Page Website, is
mainly based, around his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station!
But that said, however, Craig has insisted, that over time, his brand new: Funk
and Soul Page Website, will cover, all aspects of his work, which is
definitely, something to look forward to, in my general opinion!
So, for
anybody, who may be interested, in Craig’s Funk and Soul Page Website, then please go to:

A PROFILE OF CRAIG CHARLES’ WORK FOR BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC! PLUS SOME VERY IMPORTANT BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC INFORMATION!

concerned, then please go to:
A Profile of
Craig Charles' Work For BBC Radio 6 Music!: Part One
A Profile of
Craig Charles' Work For BBC Radio 6 Music!: Part Two
And, more recently, I have
set up, an additional Website, with regard, to Craig’s work commitments, at The
BBC 6 Music Radio Station, because what, with one thing and another, there have
been a great deal of changes, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, which have had
to be set up, via The BBC Corporation, from 2010, onwards, which has mainly
been due, to the cuts, they have had to make, and even though, the BBC 6 Music
Radio Station, has been saved, from closure, from Monday the 5th of July 2010,
onwards, I am afraid, that there has been a great deal, of reorganization, at
the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, and as, there has, been a great deal, of
information, for me, to sort out, with regard to that, I really do not wish, to
clutter up, my Unofficial Craig Charles Website, with it, any further! And
therefore, I had no choice, in the matter, but to create, an additional
Website, with regard, to Craig’s work commitments, at The BBC 6 Music Radio
Station. And, for anybody, who is interested, in my BBC 6 Music Extra
Information Website, then please go to:

CRAIG CHARLES: AUTHOR
At the moment, I have got,
no reviews, available, for any of Craig’s books, that he has written, over the
years, as I just have not had the time to dedicate to reviewing: The Craig
Charles Almanac Of General Knowledge, and The Log: A Dwarfer’s
Guide To Everything, what with one thing, and another lately! And therefore, if
you want to find out, what the Last Human’s thoughts are, via The Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To Everything, all
will be revealed eventually! Unfortunately however, Penguin Books are no longer
promoting: The Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To Everything, but I have got, a Picture Reference, of the
original book cover, set up, anyway!
But I will stress this,
very briefly. I really do love, Craig's, Sarcastic Sense of Humour,
where his observations, on Human Life, are concerned, especially the Reference,
with regard, to people, leaving their Umbrellas, in Public Houses, which is
one, of my all time: Favourite parts, of The Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To Everything! Especially, as I have
always, been one, for losing umbrellas, over the years! And, I have lost two
umbrellas, on a bus, over the years, and I really do feel, that part, of The
Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To
Everything, is very true to life, indeed! But that said, however, I can always,
sort out, a far more, detailed review for The Log: A Dwarfer’s
Guide To Everything, at a much later date, but the Picture Reference, has been
set up, which will promote, the original book cover, of The Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To Everything, via my Unofficial Craig
Charles Website, anyway!
The Log: A Dwarfer's Guide To Everything by Craig Charles and Russell Bell Book Cover Publicity 1997
uring 1993, Craig Charles had originally published: The Craig Charles Almanac of Total Knowledge, which was originally published, during 1993. I am pretty certain, that The Craig Charles Almanac of Total Knowledge is now, out of print, but again, I cannot be certain, of that!
During 1997, Craig Charles had originally published: The Log: A Dwarfer’s Guide To Everything.
During 1998, Craig Charles had originally published: No Other Blue: His First Collection of Poetry.
Craig Charles’ original, proposed Autobiography: No Irish, No Niggers, (which he had originally written, during 1997), had originally, been proposed, for Publication, towards the end of November 1999.
And, Craig Charles’ second, proposed Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, (which he had originally written, during 2006), had originally, been proposed, for Publication, some time, during 2011.

arrest, for Drug Possession, in the August of that year.
He returned to the Soap, in
January last year, following a seven month absence, after a stint, in Rehab.
A Weatherfield

clean, on everything to do, with his Drug taking, which he had admitted, had
almost finished him.

Entitled: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and

UPDATED NEWS ON
CRAIG CHARLES’ AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Unfortunately however, due
to unforeseen circumstances, Craig Charles’: Autobiography: On The Rocks: My

MORE UPDATED NEWS
ON CRAIG CHARLES’ AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Unfortunately however, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had discovered, via the Amazon Shopping Website, that even though, there had been, a possibility, that Craig Charles’: Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, could have, been released, at some point, in time, during 2011... Unfortunately however, I am afraid, that I had also discovered, that it had definitely, looked like, that it had definitely not, been quite, as simple, as all that, with regard, to where, the Publication Date, of Craig Charles’: Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction's Official Publication Date, had been concerned, when it had actually come down to it, at the end of the day, anyhow!
Unfortunately however, I have also discovered, via an interview, that Craig had done, and which, I had happened, to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled: "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and which, had originally, taken place, and which, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to Craig, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010, and it, had informed, everybody concerned, that the general release, of Craig Charles’: Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction's, Official Publication Date, had been temporarily, put back, once again, anyhow! And Craig, had also stated, via the recent interview, that he had done, and which, I had happened, to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled: "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and which, had originally, taken place, and which, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to Craig, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010, that he had decided, to postpone, publishing, his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, for the time being, for various reasons, anyhow!
And Craig had also, issued a statement, via an interview, that he had done, and which, I had happened, to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled: "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and which, had originally, taken place, and which, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to Craig, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010, and it, had informed, everybody concerned, that the general release, of Craig Charles’: Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction's, Official Publication Date, had been, temporarily, put back, once again, anyhow!
And Craig, had also stated, via an interview, that he had done, and which, I had happened, to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled: "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and which, had originally, taken place, and which, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to Craig, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010 - “I’ve written my Autobiography: “On the Rocks”. The Publisher, wants to put it out, but I’ve gone off, the idea. It’s too hardcore. It’s the unclean truth of everything. I do a lot of work for Radio Two. I’m doing Steve Wright, for Christmas and New Year, and I’ve done, Janice Long, for eight weeks, this year, and I see, the future, of what I do, as building, towards a Weekly Slot, and having, the Weekends for Funk and Soul. This is all, brutally honest here, so I need, to get my feet, under the table, at Radio Two, before I bring out, the Autobiography. I’m not saying, I’m going, to leave Corrie, either. I think I can do, all these things”.
And, as it had turned out, in the end, the various reasons, that Craig, had felt, that he had had, to put off, publishing his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, had also, been mainly, due to Craig, having to prepare himself, with regard, to having to do, a great deal of work, for the BBC Radio Two Station, especially as he had stood in, for Steve Wright, during Christmas 2010, and the New Year of 2011, and he had also, stood in, for Janice Long, for the best part of eight weeks, during the Summer of 2010, and more recently: Jo Whiley. And Craig, had also stated, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, and he had also, informed me, at the Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, during The Red Dwarf: Questions and Answers Session, when I had attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, which had ran, from Saturday the 28th of March (which had been, the day, that I had actually attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry!), until Sunday the 29th of March, along with Robert Llewellyn, and Angela Bruce, the last time, that I had asked him, about his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, that his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, had actually been, in the process, of being released, some time, during October 2009.
And Craig, had also stated, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, and he had also, informed me, at the Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, during The Red Dwarf: Questions and Answers Session, when I had attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, which had ran, from Saturday the 28th of March (which had been, the day, that I had actually attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry!), until Sunday the 29th of March, along with Robert Llewellyn, and Angela Bruce, the last time, that I had asked him, about his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, that his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, that he had, also felt, that it had definitely, been looking like, that there had been, a very strong possibility, that he had got, a future, as a Permanent Presenter, at the BBC Radio Two Station, along with his carrying on, as the Presenter of his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, during the weekends, at the time!
And Craig, had also stated, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, and he had also, informed me, at the Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, during The Red Dwarf: Questions and Answers Session, when I had attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry, which had ran, from Saturday the 28th of March (which had been, the day, that I had actually attended, The Memorabilia Fair, at The Birmingham NEC, near Coventry!), until Sunday the 29th of March, along with Robert Llewellyn, and Angela Bruce, that he, had felt, that he, had needed, more time, to get himself, more established, at the BBC Radio Two Station, as a stand-in Presenter, for Steve Wright, and Janice Long, and more recently: Jo Whiley.
And Craig, had also stated, via the interview, that he had done, and which, I had happened to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled - "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and it, had originally, taken place, and it, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of his Saturday night: Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to him, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010, that he, had also felt, that it had probably been, for the best, if he came, to the decision, with regard, to where publishing, his Autobiography: On The Rocks: My Story of Life, Love and Addiction, had been concerned, at the time, via his, putting it, on hold, for the time being, anyhow!
Unfortunately however, with regard, to Craig Charles, wanting to become, a full-time Presenter, at the BBC Radio 2 Station, via the interview, that he had done, and which, I had happened to come across, via surfing the Internet, during November 2010, which had been, entitled - "PlanetSmeg", with Simon Fitzpatrick and Ema Lea, and it, had originally, taken place, and it, had been conducted, prior to a Live three hour broadcast, of his Saturday night: Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, with regard, to him, making his North East Debut, as a DJ, presenting: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club, at The Trojan Rooms, in Whitley Bay, on the 21st of November 2010, did not come to pass, as it had happened, to turn out. Fortunately however, from Saturday the 25th of January 2014, onwards, Craig has been presenting, a Link up Radio Show: Craig’s: Trunk of Funk, via the BBC Radio 2 Station, which follows on, directly, after he has finished, presenting, his regular: Saturday Night: The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, via the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, since then, anyhow!
And, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, had done, some Channel hopping, from BBC Radio 6 Music to BBC Radio 2, at 9.00p.m, for one hour, on Saturday the 25th of January 2014. And Craig’s: Trunk of Funk, is a Special Link up: Radio Show, with BBC Radio 2, and it, has since, become a permanent feature, via the BBC Radio 6 Music Station, along with the BBC Radio 2 Station, since Saturday the 25th of January 2014, onwards!
And Craig, had opened up, his Trunk of Funk to give, everybody concerned: Classic Motown, and Northern Soul, and R and B, and Gospel, and contemporary remixes, which had formed, an hour of Party Tunes, via his Funk and Soul Show, at BBC Radio 6 Music, on Saturday the 25th of January 2014.
And, we had also heard, from a Secret Soul Girl/Boy, who had picked out, their favourite Funk or Soul tracks. And, the Secret Soul Girl/Boy, could have been, an Actor, Comedian, or even Sports Folk. And, Mr Charles, had also brought, everybody concerned, a Funk or Soul Track, that had never had, a spin on BBC Radio 2, in 'New to 2'. And, we had needed, everybody concerned, to let us know, what track, they would like to hear, and just exactly, who we had needed, to be, playing it for, at the time.
Unfortunately however, Craig Charles, had informed, one of his Listeners, via his Funk and Soul Show, at BBC Radio 6 Music, on Saturday the 14th of March 2015, who had enquired, that he could, no longer listen, to Craig’s: Former: BBC Radio 2 Trunk of Funk Show, which had originally ran, from Saturday the 25th of January 2014, up until, Saturday the 1st of November 2014, from 9.00p.m, for one hour, which had been due, to Craig’s: former: BBC Radio 2 Trunk of Funk Show, which had originally ran, from Saturday the 25th of January 2014, up until, Saturday the 1st of November 2014, from 9.00p.m, for one hour, being cancelled, from Saturday the 1st of November 2014, onwards!
On Friday the 7th of November 2014, it had been, announced, amongst the Listings, via the BBC Radio 2 Schedules, via the BBC Radio Two’s Website, that Paul Gambaccini, would be hosting, his BBC Radio 2 Show: America's Greatest Hits, from 8.00p.m to 10.00p.m, once again, which he has, been presenting, since Saturday the 18th of April 1998.
Thank You

OTHER CRAIG CHARLES PROJECTS
With regard, to some
recently updated News, with regard, to: Craig Charles’ Comedy Series:
"Screwed", which he had co-written, with Robert Llewellyn…
And Craig Charles and
Robert Llewellyn, had mentioned, at the Annual: Red Dwarf Dimension Jump 1997
Convention, that their brand new: Sit-com: “Screwed”, which they, had been,
writing together, was going, to be set, in a Men’s Prison, which is one, of
those State of the Art: Open Prisons, run by Yuppies, who can get, rather
nasty, when they really want to! Could this be, an updated version of Porridge,
one thinks?!
And Craig Charles and
Robert Llewellyn, had also mentioned, at the Annual: Red Dwarf Dimension Jump
1997 Convention, that they, were also, going to
appear, as Prison Convicts, in their brand new: Sit-com: “Screwed”. And Craig Charles,
had been going, to play, a far more hardened, and a very experienced: Yuppie
Prison Convict (an old boy, in other words!), and Robert, had been going to
play, a very naive, and a very inexperienced: Yuppie Prison Convict (a new boy,
in other words!), in their brand new: Sit-com: “Screwed”.
And Craig Charles and
Robert Llewellyn, had also mentioned, at the Annual: Red Dwarf Dimension Jump
1997 Convention, that they, had co-written, their brand new: Sit-com:
“Screwed”, in the Republic of Ireland, and at: Robert's Shack, in the Cotswolds…
And, Craig Charles and
Robert Llewellyn, had also mentioned, at the Annual: Red Dwarf Dimension Jump
1997 Convention, that there had been, a possibility, that the BBC, had been
planning, on commissioning: Craig Charles Comedy Series: "Screwed",
which he had co-written, with Robert Llewellyn, for the Millennium, at that
point in time…
Unfortunately however, the
BBC, had eventually decided, that they, had got, no future plans, to
commission: Craig Charles Comedy Series: "Screwed", which he had
co-written, with Robert Llewellyn, for the Millennium, during the early Winter of 1998.
And, I had also heard, a rumour, that Craig Charles, had also written, another
Comedy Series, along with some other Writers, during the late Winter of 1997.
And, I had also heard, a rumour, that Craig Charles, had been approached,
with regard, to his, being
featured, as a Character, in the brand new: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which
is a remake, of the Former: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which had originally,
been aired, on ITV1, during 1980, during the late Winter of 1999.
And, there had been, a possibility, that Craig, was going to be, the voice of Nobby The Mouse, in the brand new: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which is a remake, of the Former: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which had originally, been aired, on ITV1, during 1980, during the late Winter of 1999.
And, I am afraid, that is
all, that I am aware of, with regard, to Craig Charles, who had been
approached, with regard, to his, being featured, as a Character, in the brand new: Dr Snuggles Cartoon
Series, which is a remake, of the Former: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series,
which had originally, been aired, on ITV1, during 1980, during the later Winter
of 1999. And, there had been, a possibility, that Craig, was going to be, the
voice of Nobby The Mouse, in the brand new: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which
is a remake, of the Former: Dr Snuggles Cartoon Series, which had originally,
been aired, on ITV1, during 1980, during the late Winter of 1999, at this point in time, anyhow!
Craig has also been a Columnist, and he has had articles, published in Time Out magazine, and I think, that he had done, an interview, with the Director, the late Derek Jarman. And Craig has also had articles, published in The Guardian. When he was just twelve years old, Craig had entered a Poetry Competition, in The Guardian, and they had published the poem: "I Want To Feel Your Bum". Most recently, over the past year or so?, Craig has been writing a column, for The Liverpool Echo (Look into that, at a later date!).
CRAIG CHARLES: POLITICS
Craig Charles had acquired, seven O Levels, at West Derby Comprehensive School, Liverpool, Merseyside. And Craig, had also acquired, four A Levels, in English Literature, and History, and Government and Politics, and General Studies, at the Former: Childwall Hall College of Further Education, Childwall, Liverpool, Merseyside.
During the nineteen eighties, Craig had also worked, with an
Unofficial Labour Party Organization, which had been known, as The Red Wedge. The Red Wedge Oganization, had originally been, an organization of Musicians, which
had originally, been set up, in 1985 by the Alternative Rock Musician, and the
left-wing activist: Billy Bragg, and the Labour Party, which had been, in
Opposition, at the time.
The Red Wedge Organization,
had originally, been created, in order, to open the minds of the younger
generation, of Great Britain, United Kingdom, which would enable them, to
expose a world of Politics, through an accessible form, for them. Jobs For Youth, had almost been, a Prototype set up, by the
Alternative Rock Musician, and the left-wing activist: Billy Bragg. The Red
Wedge Organization’s main issue, had been, exposing,
the major flaws of The Conservative Party, which had been, in Power, at the
time, with the Late: Baroness Margaret Thatcher, carefully installed, as the
former: Prime Minister of Great Britain, United Kingdom. Many had protested,
during her reign, but why, on Earth, had she been selected, as the Conservative
Party Leader, and Prime Minister of The United Kingdom, via three Election
Campaigns (1979, and 1983, and 1987), for another three terms, in a row?!
During the nineteen nineties. Craig had also, been involved, with the Presentation of Lauren Booth’s (Cherie Blair’s half sister’s) singing, at a Labour Party Event, during 1997.
During the early noughties, Craig, had also, been involved, in Local Politics.
CULT-TV MAGAZINE WRITE UP
"When Craig Charles, joined the rest of the cast, to film: Red Dwarf’s Tenth Anniversary Specials, he brought something, very personal, with him -- photographs of his Baby Daughter: Anna-Jo, born just eleven days earlier (in) November 1997. For a man who's been through a 'Nightmare', life is very good, at the moment.
Professionally, things have never been better. After the personal horror of being arrested, he finally walked out of court in March 1995, with his innocence proven, and the determination, to fight back. Offers for High Profile Jobs followed, and he landed roles, in The Bill, and The Governor, among others. Now that it's ten years, since he made his acting debut, in Red Dwarf, does he think he's a better actor?
'I hope so,' he says, I'd be a pretty Smeg, if I didn't. I think I've improved an awful lot. I'm not very proud of my first acting performances, but things, have only looked up, things have got better.
He started appearing, on Television, in his late Teens, and found Fame, difficult to adjust to.
'When you're in the Supermarket, you want to buy the tomatoes, not sign six autographs', he says. He gets 'about fifty letters a week', and although, he appreciates, the support, he really doesn't know, what to do, with them!
'I've never replied to one, and I never will. I feel so uncomfortable with it,' he shrugs. 'I've had conversations, with Taxi Drivers, going - "I had a girl in, who'd been watching the show, Last Night, and she had the straw, that you drank out of, treasuring it, she was". We're not really in it, for the adulation, we're in it, because we like doing the work, we like each other, and it's funny'.
Give him an audience, though, and he's happy. Sometimes, when he's filming Red Dwarf, he's so busy entertaining the audience, that he has to be reminded to get ready for the next scene. The last series, didn't let the Public in, to watch filming, but that was fine by Charles.
'Doing it in front of an audience is a bit like doing Exams. You've got two or three chances at the most, then the audience, wants you to move on, so the Performances, always suffer.
It also means you can light it better, the Performances are more considered, and if you get it wrong, you can go back and do it again,' he continues, 'It's like a dry run for movies doing it on a single camera. It's evolve or die, really -- you have to move on, otherwise it just becomes stagnant' ".
