THE XANADU RED DWARF RELATED FACT FILE WEBSITE


For all of you dedicated, Red Dwarf fans, out there, the purpose of this website, is to inform you of any Red Dwarf related facts, that I have gleaned, from various magazine and newspaper articles, over the years, that have definitely got, one way or another, connections with Red Dwarf! And they can be of any nature, ranging from any serious science stuff, such as any astronomical and space related, based facts, any places, that the characters of Red Dwarf, have dreamed of and travelled to, any famous historical characters, that the Dwarfer’s, have encountered, along the way, during their time, trapped in deep space, for the past three million years, and on their journey back to Earth, and any witty remarks, that the characters have made, during all eight series of Red Dwarf!

So for those of you, who are interested, please feel free to browse through this page, at your leisure!

The Red Dwarf Related Facts, are as follows:

Fact One:

Using scheduled flights, to cross the international dateline, between Fiji and Honolulu, it is possible to have a Birthday, that "officially" lasts 46 hours.

Fact Two:

Fiji has it's own version of The National Trust.

Fact Three:

(An astronomical fact, which does count, as a Red Dwarf related fact, because the crew of Red Dwarf, are in space, and space related facts, are all around them, especially, where The Junior Encyclopaedia of Space, is concerned!, etcetera).

It takes twenty seven days, for all of the Sun’s surface to be seen, from the Earth.

Fact Four:

Laurence Oates was thirty two, when he went out alone, into a blizzard to die on Scott’s second Antarctic expedition in 1912.

Fact Five:

The Hammond organ was invented by Laurens Hammond in 1934.

Fact Six:

Billy Butlin opened his first holiday camp at Skegness in 1936.

Fact Seven:

The whiskers of a walrus, are forty times thicker, than human hair.
