CRAIG CHARLES JOINING THE STREET, AS LLOYD MULLANEY, DURING 2005

Prior, to his joining the Street, as Lloyd Mullaney (Original Working Cast Name: Lloyd Bowes), during the Summer of 2005, Craig had appeared, on a Cadbury’s Commercial (and, Cadbury’s had been, the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street’s very first: Official Sponsor, at the time, from July 1996, until late 2006, until Harveys The Furniture Store, became the brand new: Official Sponsor, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, from Sunday the 30th of September 2007, onwards. And, it has recently, been announced, on Wednesday the 11th of April 2012, that Harveys The Furniture Store, had decided, not to renew, their contract, with the ITV Studios, and they will cease, their Sponsorship, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, during January 2013. And so far, there has been, no official announcement, made, with regard, to the brand new: Official Sponsor, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street), sitting behind a desk, by a tree, in a field. And, I think, that he stated, how delicious, Cadbury’s Chocolate, is between, each Commercial break, which I think, had been done, to gradually, introduce, his character, at the time! Well, I am pretty certain, that I had recognised him, anyway!

And, Craig Charles, had originally appeared, as Lloyd Mullaney (Original Working Cast Name: Lloyd Bowes), on the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, in a Two Part Special, which had originally, been broadcast, on Monday the 20th of June 2005.

From Monday the 20th of June 2005, up until, Wednesday the 25th of September 2015, Craig had appeared, in the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, as: Lloyd Mullaney (Original Working Cast Name: Lloyd Bowes). And during, Christmas 2006, Craig’s: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, had also, been featured, in The Humour of Coronation Street. And, more recently, Craig’s: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, had also, been featured, in the brand new: Red Dwarf Special: Back To Earth, which had originally, been broadcast, on the Dave Channel, over the Easter Weekend, between Friday the 10th of April 2009, and Sunday the 12th of April 2009.

CRAIG CHARLES’ CONTRIBUTION TO THE CORONATION STREET FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

And, Craig Charles’ Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, had been involved, via the Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations, with regard, to the Live Episode of Coronation Street, which had been aired, on Thursday the 9th of December 2010, with regard, to the Tram Crash, which had paid tribute, to the original Tram Crash, on Coronation Street, which had happened, during 1967 (which is as old, as me! And, there will, be more information, with regard, to the Live Episode of Coronation Street, which had been aired, on Thursday the 9th of December 2010, with regard, to the Tram Crash, which had paid tribute, to the original Tram Crash, on Coronation Street, which had happened, during 1967, via The Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations, in general, to come, at a later date! Marie Birch).

And, I had also been quite shocked, to discover, that Craig Charles, had mentioned, on his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, on Saturday the 16th of October 2010, which I had listened to, on Friday the 22nd of October 2010, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, via The BBC 6 Music Archive Service, that Craig, had had to be hospitalised, via his Coronation Street Employers, because he had stated, that he had, gone and inhaled some fumes, while he had, been working, on the Tram Crash set, which had originally, been set up, for the Fiftieth Anniversary of Coronation Street, and that, the fumes, that had been seeping out, of the Tram Crash set, had caused Craig, to have, some quite, serious problems, where his teeth, had been concerned, and that, one of his wisdom teeth, had been forced out, of his mouth, and that, only the nerves, of his wisdom tooth, were all, that had remained, of it, and that, Craig, had been, in a great deal of pain, that his Coronation Street Employers, had got no alternative, but to get him, admitted, to his local Hospital, so that he could recover, from the shock of it, as soon as it was possible, for them to do so!

Fortunately however, Craig had also mentioned, on his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, on Saturday the 16th of October 2010, which I had listened to, on Friday the 22nd of October 2010, at the BBC 6 Music Radio Station, via The BBC 6 Music Archive Service,  that he had got, himself sorted out, at his local Hospital, and that, he had been, feeling a lot better, since that had happened, with regard, to the fumes, that he had inhaled, while he had been, working on the Tram Crash set, which had originally, been set up, for the Fiftieth Anniversary of Coronation Street, when all was said and done!

And, I had also been, quite shocked, to discover, via a report, which I had happened, to come across, on the Internet, via The Sun, on Saturday the 23rd of October 2010, that filming, had been, temporarily postponed, on the Coronation Street Set, on Friday the 22nd of October 2010, after a fault, had been noticed, within the Tram Crash set, which had eventually, played, a huge part, with regard, to The Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations! And, according, to the report, which I had happened, to come across, on the Internet, via The Sun, on Saturday the 23rd of October 2010, that one, of the soaps biggest characters, had been, about to film, their final scenes, for The Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations, when the temporary Tram Crash Set Scenery, had suddenly begun, to wobble! And, also, according to the report, which I had happened, to come across, on the Internet, via The Sun, on Saturday the 23rd of October 2010, that a source, with regard, to The Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations, had quoted: "The Lighting was attached, to the scaffolding, but it had got overloaded. There was a danger of the actor, being crushed to death. Fortunately however, it was spotted in time".

(And, there will, be more information, with regard, to The Coronation Street Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations, in general, to come, at a later date! Marie Birch)

AND CRAIG’S: BETTY’S HOTPOT SESSIONS ON HIS FUNK AND SOUL SHOW AT BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC

And, Craig had Paid Tribute, to the Late: Betty Driver, who had Starred, as Betty Williams (also: Elizabeth Preston, and Elizabeth Turpin), on Coronation Street, from 1969 to 2011, via his Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC Radio 6 Music Station. And, Betty Driver, had passed away, on Saturday the 15th of October 2011. CORONATION STREET FROM THE ROVERS RETURN SESSION ON THE CRAIG CHARLES FUNK AND SOUL SHOW AT BBC 6 MUSIC

On Saturday the 5th of May 2012: The May Day: Bank Holiday Weekend, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Station, had linked up, with the BBC Radio Two Station, via a Simulcast broadcast. And, Craig, had also met up, with the Soul Singer: Alice Russell, and the Musician, and the DJ, and the Record Producer: Will Quantic, on the cobbles, of Coronation Street, and then, he had taken, them down, to The Rovers Return, to catch up, on their new project. And, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Station, had also, featured, the Listeners: Funk and Soul requests, and a Secret Soul Girl, had popped by, and Craig, had continued, to count down, his all time favourite, Funky Numbers, in Fifty Two Weeks of Funk. And, with regard, to The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, at the BBC 6 Music Station, linking up, with the BBC Radio Two Station, via a Simulcast broadcast, and, Craig, also meeting up, with the Soul Singer: Alice Russell, and the Musician, and the DJ, and the Record Producer: Will Quantic, on the cobbles, of Coronation Street, and his taking, them down, to The Rovers Return, to catch up, on their new project, on Saturday the 5th of May 2012, had also been, a promotion, for Craig’s eventual return, to Coronation Street, as, his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, some time, during June 2012.

CRAIG CHARLES LEAVING CORONATION STREET ON A TEMPORARY BASIS

On Thursday the 15th of December 2011, Craig Charles’ Character: Lloyd Mullaney, left Coronation Street, on a temporary basis, so that Craig (who had officially left, The Street, on a temporary basis, during November 2011), could work, on the Tenth Series of Red Dwarf. And, hopefully, Craig Charles, will be returning, to Coronation Street, as his character: Lloyd Mullaney, either during, February 2012, or during, the Spring of 2012.

CRAIG CHARLES RETURNING TO CORONATION STREET ON A PERMANENT BASIS, ONCE AGAIN!

And, it was officially announced, by Craig Charles, himself, on Loose Women, and via Red Dwarf The Official Website, on Friday the 16th of March 2012, that he would be coming back, to the Street, at the end of March 2012, meaning that his character: Lloyd Mullaney, should start appearing, on our screens, again, around late April, or early May 2012.

On Tuesday the 1st of May 2012, it was officially announced, via various reports, circulating, on the Internet, that Craig Charles, had reportedly, started filming, his comeback episodes, for Coronation Street, and that, his first new scenes, would begin airing, some time, during 2012. And, Craig’s character: Lloyd Mullaney, it is said, is to return, in a “Terrific” comeback, to the Street, which will see him, launching, a brand new: Cab Firm, to rival, his Former: Friend, and Business Partner: Steve McDonald’s, and Lloyd’s: Former: Coronation Street: Cab Firm: Street Cars.

And, finally, I have recently discovered, that Craig Charles, will officially be returning, to Coronation Street, as his Character: Lloyd Mullaney, who will feature, in two part episodes, of The Street, which will air, on Monday the 2nd of July 2012, on ITV1, from 7.30.p.m and 8.30p.m.

CRAIG CHARLES AND HAYLEY TAMADDON’S: RESIGNATIONS FROM CORONATION STREET

On Saturday the 2nd of May 2015, Craig Charles, had announced, via the Press Statement, that he had made, the very hard decision, to quit, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, which had been due, to him wanting, to reprise, his: Character: Dave Lister, on Red Dwarf, which has been commissioned, for another two, brand new series, which will go, into Production, during the Autumn of 2015, and which, is going, to be broadcast, on The Freeview Channel: Dave, some time, during 2016, and 2017, because Craig, had felt, that he had owed it, to his Fellow: Red Dwarf Colleagues, to join them, in filming, another two, brand new series of Red Dwarf, and finding out, what is in store, for the others...

And Craig, had also announced, via the Press Statement, that he had made, on Saturday the 2nd of May 2015, that the door, would definitely, be left open, for him, to return, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, especially as he had made, his point, via the Press Statement, which he had made, on Saturday the 2nd of May 2015, with regard, to his decision, to quit, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, which had been due, to him wanting, to reprise, his: Character: Dave Lister, on Red Dwarf, which has been commissioned, for another two, brand new series, which will go, into Production, during the Autumn of 2015, and which, is going, to be broadcast, on The Freeview Channel: Dave, some time, during 2016, and 2017, because Craig, had felt, that he had owed it, to his Fellow Red Dwarf Colleagues, to join them, in filming, another two, brand new series of Red Dwarf, and finding out, what is in store, for the others..., that he would love to return, to Coronation Street, at some point, in the future!

Incidentally, Craig Charles, had resigned, from Coronation Street, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, on Saturday the 2nd of May 2015, which had been, the exact day, that Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge, had been born.

And, I had really felt, that Craig Charles’: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, had really grown, over the past ten years! And, I had also, really felt, that, Craig’s: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, had definitely, come into his own, over the past ten years, that he, had been working, on the Street, when all had been said and done! And, I had also, really felt, that, Craig Charles’: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, and his, very good friend: Simon Gregson's: Coronation Street Character: Steve McDonald, had both, worked very well, together, indeed, over the past ten years! And, I had also, really felt, that Craig Charles’: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, and his very good friend: Simon Gregson's: Coronation Street Character: Steve McDonald, had had, a really good double act, between them, when it had actually come down to it, at the end of the day!

But that said, however, from what, I have gathered, with regard, to Craig Charles’ announcement, via the Press Statement, that he had made, the very hard decision, to quit, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, which had been due, to him wanting, to reprise, his: Character: Dave Lister, on Red Dwarf, which has been commissioned, for another two, brand new series, which will go, into Production, during the Autumn of 2015, and which, is going, to be broadcast, on The Freeview Channel: Dave, some time, during 2016, and 2017, because Craig, had felt, that he had owed it, to his Fellow: Red Dwarf Colleagues, to join them, in filming, another two, brand new series of Red Dwarf, and finding out, what is in store, for the others..., that if Craig, had felt, that he could not, go on, any further, with regard, to him developing, his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, any further, for the time being. Then, I am afraid, that I have, to admit, that only Craig, could have made, that vital decision, in question, with regard, to his feeling, that it had definitely, been the right time, for him, to leave, the Street, at that point in time, anyhow!

On Thursday the 30th of July 2015, it had also, been announced, via the Coronation Street Blog, that Craig Charles, had finally, finished filming, his Final Scenes, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, for Coronation Street, even though, it had been rumoured, that Craig, would be returning, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, for a Dramatic Live Episode, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, which had, also seen, his: Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon), bow out, in style, which had been, a part, of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations, for ITV Studios, which had been broadcast, on ITV1, on Wednesday the 23rd of September 2015.

On Tuesday the 28th of April 2015, Hayley Tamaddon, had also, announced, via the Press Statement, that she had made, the very hard decision, to quit, as Lloyd Mullaney’s (Craig Charles): Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett, after the best part, of two years. And therefore, it had also, been decided, that Lloyd Mullaney’s (Craig Charles): Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon), would also, be written out, via a Dramatic Live Episode, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, which had, also seen, her bow out, in style, which had been, a part, of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations, for ITV Studios, which had been broadcast, on ITV1, on Wednesday the 23rd of September 2015.

And, I must say, I will definitely miss (and so will, everybody else, come to that!), the sense of merry wit, and humour, that Hayley, had brought, to her: Coronation Street Character: Andrea Beckett , during the two years, that she had been, on the Street, anyhow!

On Tuesday the 25th of August 2015, it had officially, been confirmed, that Craig Charles, would be returning, as his: Coronation Street Character: Lloyd Mullaney, for a Dramatic Live Episode, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, which had, also seen, his: Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon), bow out, in style, which had been, a part, of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations, for ITV Studios, which had been broadcast, on ITV1, on Wednesday the 23rd of September 2015.

And, the Final Scenes, which Craig Charles, had finally, finished filming, on Coronation Street, alongside, his: Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon), before, the Dramatic Live Episode, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, which had, also seen, his: Coronation Street: Current Love Interest Character: Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon), bow out, in style, in a Red Cadillac, which had been, a part, of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations, for ITV Studios, which had been broadcast, on ITV1, on Wednesday the 23rd of September 2015, had officially, been broadcast, on ITV1, on Friday the 25th of September 2015.

And, there will, definitely be, far more, news to come, with regard, to Craig Charles, and Hayley Tamaddon, finally leaving: Coronation Street, after the Dramatic Live Episode, of the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, which had been, a part, of the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations, for ITV Studios, which had been broadcast, on ITV1, on Wednesday the 23rd of September 2015.

St Katharine's College, Childwall, Liverpool, Merseyside, is a Teacher Training College, which had eventually, become part, of Liverpool Hope University, Childwall, Liverpool, Merseyside, since 1995. And, Craig Charles’ Brother: Dean's Teaching skills, must have been, very useful, to him, indeed, when he had been, in the Police Force, between Thursday the 31st of March 1983, and Thursday the 1st of August 1996, because the Police Force, do go, around Schools, and Colleges, and Universities, which does, eventually enable them, to recruit people, into the Police Force, because the Police Force, do need, to have Police Officers, with Teaching skills, especially as they do tend, to have, a great deal, of Training Courses! And Craig’s family, must have been, very proud, with regard, to his Brother Dean, having Teaching skills, as well, as his being, a former: Police Inspector, anyhow!

The storyline, was actually based, on Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), having a heart to heart discussion, with Lloyd Mullaney, about re-kindling his relationship, with his former ex: Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), and how he felt, that he was making a very big mistake, into the bargain, where that was concerned!

Incidentally, I finally managed, to see, Craig Charles’ Former: debut appearance, on the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street, in a Two Part Special, as Lloyd Mullaney, which had originally aired, on Monday the 12th of February 2007, on ITV1, at 7.30p.m and 8.30p.m, on YouTube, on Friday the 18th of May 2012, at long last! And, I had thought, that he was very good, indeed, when I had seen him, in the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street Two Part Special, as Lloyd Mullaney, which had originally aired, on Monday the 12th of February 2007, on ITV1, at 7.30p.m and 8.30p.m, on YouTube, on Friday the 18th of May 2012, by the way! Craig Charles has been offered a new three year contract with the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street.

The actor, who plays cab driver Lloyd Mullaney on the ITV1 Soap Opera: Coronation Street ITV1, has been rewarded, by chiefs, after getting his life back on track, over the past year.

“I’m delighted. Corrie is a great place to work, and there are some fantastic storylines, being lined up for me,” Craig revealed. “Life is good, right now - - I’m a very happy man”.

Charles was suspended, from the programme, in June 2006, when revelations, about his drug and alcohol problems, hit the tabloids. Following a successful stint in rehab, he returned to the show, in early 2007, but was always kept, on short-term contracts.

A Street source told The People: “He has worked really hard and proved himself. There were no doubts about offering a longer contract”.
